Diablo 3 players who've still been dutifully progressing through the game's latest season of content now only have a while longer left to do so following Blizzard's confirmation of Season 26's end date. The current season – the one that introduced a new endgame feature for players to work towards – will come to a close on August 21st. Once that happens, players should anticipate a short break between the season before moving onto Season 27 which will bring its own set of features and changes to look forward to.
When Does Diablo 3 Season 26 Start?
At the time of writing, there is no confirmed release date for Diablo 3 Season 26. However, based on what we know about the way Diablo 3 operates, it’s not too hard to work out when Diablo 3 Season 26 will start.
That’s because Diablo 3 seasons typically follow a pretty rigid formula. For starters, each Diablo 3 Season lasts 12 weeks as a bare minimum. That being said, more recently Seasons have lasted a lot longer. Both Season 23 and 22 ran for 18 and 15 weeks, whilst Season 24 lasted 19 weeks. Blizzard will also routinely end every season on a Sunday, with new seasons always starting on a Friday. Given the developers rarely deviate from this pattern we should be able to give a decent estimate on when Season 26 starts.
Now comes the math. Season 25 started on December 10 and if we assume it was to last 17 weeks, it would end on 10 April 2022 (a Sunday). This would mean Diablo 3 Season 26 would start on 15 April 2022 (a Friday). Of course, it’s possible that the season could last longer, so we may even see Season 26 start at some point in May if the developers really want to stretch it out.
